Power BI Reports & Dashboards

If management meetings focus on debating the numbers instead of making decisions, your reporting is not doing its job. We build Power BI dashboards that stay up to date automatically, so management, production and sales all work from the same trusted data.

When you need this

  • The management report is assembled by hand every month, and by the time it is ready it is out of date.
  • Everyone works from their own spreadsheet, so the meeting argues about the numbers instead of the decision.
  • You pay for Power BI licences, but nobody has opened the reports in a year.
  • Production, sales and finance each get their own figures, and they do not add up to the same thing.
  • A new view needs an external developer, so a simple question takes two weeks to answer.

What you get

  • A management dashboard with the numbers that matter — revenue, margin, waste, capacity utilisation — on one screen
  • Production and sales reports built around the questions people actually ask
  • Scheduled automatic refresh: numbers ready by morning, with no manual step
  • One agreed set of measures (DAX), so "margin" means the same thing everywhere
  • Row-level security, so each person sees only the data that concerns them
  • Training, so the smaller changes do not need outside help

How it works

  1. Report inventory — 1 week

We go through what gets produced today, who uses it, and which decision it serves. In most companies it turns out half the reports would not be missed.

  2. Agreeing the measures — 1 week

We write down how margin, waste and utilisation are calculated. This step is boring, and it is exactly what stops you having two numbers for the same thing again six months from now.

  3. Building — 2 to 3 weeks

We build the dashboards and reports, and show them to you weekly. Anything nobody looks at twice comes back out.

  4. Go-live and training

We set up scheduled refresh and permissions, then train the team. The documentation and the report definitions stay yours.

Technologies

  • Power BI (DAX, Power Query, deployment pipelines)
  • Power BI Service with scheduled refresh
  • Row-level security for role-based access
  • SQL (PostgreSQL, Azure SQL, Microsoft Fabric)
  • Excel and PowerPoint export where the audience needs it
  • Report definitions tracked in Git

Frequently asked questions

Do we need a data warehouse first?

Not necessarily. With a few tidy source systems Power BI can connect to them directly. But if the data comes from five systems and fifteen spreadsheets, start with data integration — otherwise the report will be fast and still not trustworthy.

We already have Power BI, we just do not use it. What helps?

The usual reason is not technical: the report does not answer the question management actually asks. That is why we start with the report inventory, and the result is often fewer reports that get used, not more.

Who maintains the reports afterwards?

You should. After training, the smaller changes — a new filter, a new view, formatting — are an internal job. We are happy to help with bigger rebuilds, but it is not a condition.

How live are the numbers?

By default one or two scheduled refreshes a day, which covers most decisions in food manufacturing. Hourly or near-real-time is possible where it genuinely matters — but it costs something to run, so we only suggest it when there is a decision behind it.

  • Data Engineering & Data Warehousing

If month-end reporting requires manually reconciling multiple Excel files, the real problem is not the report—it is the data behind it. We integrate your ERP, manufacturing and warehouse systems into a single, trusted data platform so finance, production and sales all work from the same numbers.

  • Predictive Analytics & Demand Forecasting

We build demand forecasting models based on your own historical sales data, helping you make better-informed production and procurement decisions. Predictive analytics and machine learning help reduce inventory and waste while improving production planning. The model typically requires at least two to three years of well-structured sales data.
